I, Garden, (Sept/Oct 2025) PDF
I, Garden, is the presentation of data in the form of essays and artwork from a phenomenological study with my garden, part of my ongoing doctoral research.
I’ve embarked on a phenomenological study with and about gardens, my garden in particular. I spent time sitting, writing, and creating with my garden in order to collect texts to be examined and interrogated. As the texts and artworks emerged, they felt like they were asking me to do something with them other than put them in a lackluster document. They wanted to be created with, on display in such a way that they could speak most authentically and that their presentation on the page allowed the words and images to converse synergistically and playfully, as they want to. This book is just that, the raw data from my study, yet to be interrogated, but accessible, vocal, and dialogic without the need for an academic context. I hope you enjoy this narrative and visual exploration into gardens, as spoken by myself and my garden, which I am a part of.
Upon purchasing, you’ll have lifetime access to this book in PDF form (download links expire after 24 hours).
AVAILABLE IN PRINT NOVEMBER 2025.
“Maybe it’s tragically idyllic, but we say that as if the tragically idyllic didn’t exist. Maybe gardens are a place where the tragically idyllic performs, because both the garden and the gardener want that to exist and believe in some way it can.”
